Poem about Depression/Anxiety

time to go to the doctorI wrote the above poem at work last night. I’ve been having a lot of issues with anxiety and depression lately (lived with it for years) and I’ve mostly been keeping it to myself. I’m okay… but I have moments where everything just really sucks. I felt the need to share in the hopes that not only would it make me feel better but it might let someone else know that they aren’t the only ones who feel that way.

Chapter 1 of Magic to Spare Is Up

Good morning everyone! I’m just dropping by to post the link to my newest blog post over at Caffeine Diem. Today’s post is chapter one (the prologue I posted last week is linked at the top Ch 1) of the novella I’m writing specifically for Caffeine Diem, Magic to Spare. Hop on over and have a look… and if you have some creative work you’d like us to feature just email us at, we’d love to share something from someone new!

Small announcement!

My friend Amanda and I, along with a gent who goes by Gau are collaborating on a new blog/site called Caffeine Diem where we plan to post our own creative works as well as feature artistic content (not just writing, but all art forms) from other caffeine crazy creators. Head on over there and follow us, we’re just starting but we have some great stuff planned. Also, if you’re a creator of awesomely artistic stuff (novels, poetry, music, painting, photography etc.) and want to be featured just shoot us an email at with your content and any relevant links you want shared. If it’s up to snuff you’ll be featured in one of our weekly “spotlight” posts.

We look forward to seeing you there!

OMG, Triscut is LAZY! Here, have a clip no one else has seen.

Guys… I’m super lazy. I hope there’s no one out there who relies on me for entertainment because I’m just terrible at keeping up with things. I also write great run-on sentences and my grammar is terrible.

I have been writing recently though, super excited about that, and I suppose I’m gonna share a clip with you that even Author Amanda McCormick hasn’t seen yet (and she gets to read everything I write… she’s gonna be sooooo mad). It’s from my vampire novel and it’s the roughest rough draft ever, so don’t judge me! Or do… I’m posting it anyway. A word of caution (to this tale, should Hercules fight, you will fail [sorry, bit punch-drunk and I couldn’t resist]) the scene is a bit homoerotic. There’s nothing really graphic in it but things are implied. If that bothers you then don’t read on… and this may not be the blog for you. Everyone else, enjoy!

“You’re not the vampire I expected.” A gruff voice rose out of darkness.

Lucca’s eyes adjusted to the gloom and the man belonging to the voice, and the energy, came into view. Fang marks, some new, others weeks old, covered his naked body and he was shackled to the wall behind him. Amber eyes rimmed in chocolate fire glared at him in defiance from beneath a brow that was furrowed in pain. Several days growth covered his face and head, giving him a decidedly rugged look. Lucca found his eyes roaming the strange were’s muscled form on their own, his body responding in ways it hadn’t responded to anything in centuries.

“How many of my people did you kill?” the angry words were like ice, freezing the sudden heat in his veins.

It took Lucca a moment to find his voice, “Your people?” he asked in confusion, “What people are you talking about?”

“My people, the weres that other fucking vampire has been using my blood to control. I could feel their deaths… How many?” The were’s words were tight and he suddenly collapsed against the chains.

“You’re their Alpha?” Lucca took a few cautious steps toward him, “We didn’t realize their alpha wasn’t complicit in all of this.

He sent out a mental signal to his people “Stop killing weres, things are more complicated than we thought. Capture and hold them.” The Alpha had gone quiet, Lucca sensed for his energy and sensed that it was dangerously weak, the death of his pack was threatening to take him with it. A strange sense of guilt and urgency overtook him and he tore the shackles from the were’s still body and supported it against his own as he eased him to the stone floor.

If you’re anything like me you read that and went “OMG, there’s so many things that she could/needs to do with that.” then you said “That dirty heifer, nothing sexual happened there at all! I have so much disappointment!” You’d (I’d be?) right about the first thing, it needs work and I’m not even remotely happy with it. That’s why I’ve not shared it with anyone else yet… and why you only get a tiny tiny snippet of it (ye gods there’s so much more). As for your second point, you’re perverted, I like you.

Anyway, that’s part of what I’ve been working on lately. Unfortunately my muse got a bit derailed after I wrote another scene with those two (for the second book in the trilogy) so I had a dry spell for a few days. Good news though, I started on a short story last night… then I almost named my main character Harley Davidson (on accident, I’m skilled). Fortunately I caught myself before the redneck in my subconscious embarrassed me thoroughly.

That’s it for tonight, folks. Anyone have any suggestions or words of wisdom? I’d appreciate any feedback that wasn’t blatantly hateful. No need for haters around these parts.

Triscut Slacks off Again! (Staring a random snippet from a new short story.)

Holy crow! So, it’s been a while… like, 2 1/2 months. I’m sorry, holidays, my job, and carpal tunnel release surgery (on my right wrist this time) have caused much distraction (and the inability to write/type in the case of the surgery). During that time I managed to write a short story and start another novel.

And that’s what this post is about… me starting new projects without finishing the old ones. I can’t count the amount of word files I have with beginnings of stories or random dialogue for an idea that I lost interest in. I have a problem finishing things (and a head FULL of ideas). I plan to finish my vampire novel and the rest of the trilogy but I got assaulted by a short story… no big deal, jotted it out quickly and moved on… then this dragon thing conked me over the head. I wanted to ignore it and try to go back to my vampires but I was afraid that I’d lose something amazing if I didn’t get some of it down. Sooooooo, I wrote a chapter and a half on it and I’ve been stuck thinking about the details since.

For me, that seems to be the nature of the beast. I have lots and lots of ideas sloshing around in my head… distracting and interrupting… most of which refuse to cooperate with being completed. What does this mean for you, my (seriously, like only 3) readers? At the moment it means that you get a snippet from the short story I wrote (one of you has already read it in its entirety…). Remember, as with all of the snippets I post here, it’s still in its roughest form, probably full of typos and such. Also, a word of caution before you read, it’s paranormal erotica… so expect graphic content. Unfortunately I didn’t post any of the truly good bits. Something, something “Shiver with antici……………….”

A soft splash jerked her attention back to the man in the water. His nude form was fully revealed and he had taken a step toward her. Light shimmered off his pale skin and dark hair giving him a green shine and his large eyes were like a mirror. Bianca’s gaze drifted down his body, seemingly of its own accord, taking in his well defined chest and abdomen. He took another step and something bounced into her line of sight. Something she knew as obscene but felt compelled stare at. His member (though she had never seen a human member she was certain that’s what it was) jutted out from his groin, thick and proud… and large. Bianca gasped and tried to scuttle away from the water but her hand and feet couldn’t find purchase on the slick fabric beneath her.

The man bent over and crawled onto shore, his movements smooth and muscles rippling. His gaze captured hers and she froze again, fear fading behind a strange heat at her core. He slid slowly up her body, cool, slick flesh gliding smoothly against her own but catching the material of her chemise, dragging it upward as he went. By the time he was eye to eye with her the flimsy shift had risen all the way up over her hips, leaving her sex bared beneath him. A confused moan bubbled up out of her as he pressed his groin against her, his legs easing hers open. He pressed himself harder against her, not entering but sliding just out of bounds, and she felt his left hand slide up her ribcage. She gasped and her hips rose involuntarily against him. His mouth found hers in the same moment his hand found her breast and his thumb grazed the peak of her nipple. She writhed beneath him, lost in the intoxicating sensations his body was forcing on her. He deepened the kiss and soon she was on fire, his hand at her breast and his sex against her stoking the flames.

“…….. pation.”
